Ms. Doeden is so excited to be the school counselor at Windsor! She spends her free time reading, having coffee with friends, and hanging out with her dog Chewy.
I graduated from Simpson College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and from Drake University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy working with children to find their strengths and help them become the person they want to be. No two children are identical and there is no one-size-fits-all for therapy. My goal is to find the approach that best fits each client’s needs. In my free time, I enjoy books, movies, road trips, and hiking with my husband, Michael and our two dogs.
Class Description
I work from the New Beginnings office in Urbandale and at Windsor Elementary for school-based therapy. The partnership with Des Moines Public Schools allows for mental health services to be provided within the school. This can be less disruptive of the routine and students miss less class time. Students will receive the same quality services whether provided in the school or at the New Beginnings office.
